listen up…

28 04 2009

do you believe god can speak to you? it’s a big questions with lots of implications and one that i’ve wrestled with for many years. because of my experience of hearing him speak over and over and over again i can say that my answer is emphatically “YES!!!!”. sometimes it’s through his word and sometimes it’s in the still small voice. i don’t really care how it comes at this point i’m just desperate to hear him speak. i’ve been faced with a big decision this week and i’m being allowed to put all this practice to this test. it’s so reassuring that he will speak when i give him space to speak. i’ve been reading an incredible book called when the soul listens which has been a transforming message for me. if you’re trying to develop space in your life to listen and want to hear the god of universe speak to your soul, give it a read.

does god speak to you? what does his voice sound like?

learning in the 21st century

18 04 2009

learning is a huge part of my life so i’m always looking for new ways to gain knowledge and learn new skills. one of the greatest advantages of the internet is that there is vast amount of information and websites that specialize in certain topics. i took a photography class last fall and have definitely found a new hobby. going to classes is challenging for me so i’ve been searching for websites that would give tips and provide sources of learning. digitalphotographyschool.com is one of the best that i’ve found. content includes tips and tutorials, camera & equipment, and even post production help. they also have a great section for beginners and a forum where you can post pictures and get feedback. give it a look and let me know what you think!

april in the rockies

17 04 2009

i don’t think i’ve every lived anywhere that has crazier weather than colorado. there was not much snow all winter and then in late march and so far in april we’ve had at least 4 instances of snow. the latest storm started last night with some lightning, rain, hail, and thunder. i left the office and drove through some very crazy stuff. then last night there was thunder snow. i HATE storms so normally thunder would get me freaked out but somehow thunder and snow is a fascinating it’s still snowing and is supposed to continue to do so until tomorrow. never fear…i’ll have my flip flops on by tuesday since it’s supposed to be 70 degrees. life in the rockies is always an adventure!

i didn’t take any of these but they’re a good picture of what’s happening out here…
